About School
Anjuman I Islam Public School (AIPS), Panchgani, has a rich legacy that dates back to 1920 when the Darul Uloom Trust established the school with the vision of creating an institution modeled on Harrow and Eton. Initially founded as Darul Uloom Muslim High School in the Bungalow of the Nawab of Wai with just 30 students, the school was later shifted in 1922 to a 168-acre estate on the Panchgani–Mahabaleshwar road.
In May 1958, the Darul Uloom Trust was transferred to the Anjuman-I-Islam Trust, Mumbai, a renowned organization managing several charities, orphanages, and educational institutions. Under the guidance of late Mr. Akbar Peerbhoy and Mrs. Homai Peerbhoy, the institution evolved into a prestigious seat of learning for boys and girls from across the world.
The school operates with the motto “Forward & Onward”, emphasizing not only academic excellence but also the creative, physical, spiritual, and intellectual development of students. AIPS is affiliated with the Board of Secondary Education, Pune, Maharashtra, and is a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference.
